The film is based on the New York Times Best Seller “Reviving Ophelia“ Saving the Selves of young girls by Dr. Mary Pipher. The book Rebecca Williams in the role of Elizabeth and Carleigh Beverly in the role of Kelli. Kelli and Elizabeth are cousins Kelli and suspicion that Elizabeth is in an abusive relationship, but nobody believes her. Kelli mother, Ann, played by Kim Dickens and Elisabeth’s mother, Mary, played by Jane Kaczmarek. The Ann and Mary are sisters. Nick Thurston plays Mark, the abusive boyfriend Elizabeth.
